Milton (2006 census population 53,939) is a town in Southern Ontario, Canada, part of the Greater Toronto Area. The town is located 40 km (24 miles) west of Toronto on Highway 401, and is the western terminus for the Milton line commuter train and bus corridor operated by GO Transit. Milton is part of Halton Region, and is on the edge of Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO world biosphere reserve and the Bruce Trail.

Milton received a tremendous amount of publicity following the release of the results of the 2006 Census, which indicated that Milton was the fastest growing community in Canada, with a 71.4% increase in population between 2001 and 2006. As of the mid-summer census in 2008, Milton's population had grown to 72,500 and showed no signs of slowing. The city also boasts one of the highest household incomes in the GTA.

Milton has been a quiet family oriented community to the west of Toronto for more than one hundred years. We have seen the greatest growth happen over the past 10 years in real estate. Numerous new develpments have grown Milton. The greatest growth that we have seen is in the detached home area. Milton continues to grow mainly because of the family feeling the town offers. From sports, arts to community events Milton is a town for you. The main reason many move to Milton is the reasonably priced homes. You are still able to purchase a nice 3 bedroom detached home for under $500,000. The lots tend to be larger and built amongst green space. Milton really has a country feel about it something that can't be found in the larger neighbouring communities.

Close to all major highways it is only 40 minutes from Downtown Toronto but still offers the amenities of any major city.
